Nations of Emlearal
Amduat
Hot blistering deserts, closed borders, ancient powers, and monuments of mythical proportions. Amduat is one of the oldest civilizations of Emlearal and yet, extraordinarily little is known of it to those outside of the desert.
Caliburn
The eastern empire of Caliburn is home to the dragonborn of Emlearal. While not particularly isolationists like Amduat, the dragonborn are difficult to reach in their cities floating high above the land. From on high, they lord their power over the other civilizations.
Coralii
A nation controlled by wealthy and powerful families that seceded from Tolvara. The fifteen families of Coralii are often embroiled in espionage and politics to gain the upper hand on each other. Only the best is reserved for the families, including magic – whose use is outlawed by any save the ruling families.
Ðunna
The brave men and women of Ðunna are a fierce people who stand as the realm’s defenders against the darkness of Turrez-Ghul. The Ðunnan value honour and glory, seeking noble battle and what they call ‘the good death.’ They represent the largest cavalier force in Emlearal.
Emo Dorei
The elves of Emo Dorei are a proud and private people. They discourage intrusion into their protected lands, but their recent war with the environmentally dangerous people of Kyzov has led them to consider an embassy from Tolvara to propose an alliance.
Krei
Less a nation and more a land of thieves, murderers, and misanthropes; Krei is known as a place to get and stay lost. Gangs, guilds of thieves, and bands of lawless criminals of all sorts call the cities of Krei home.
Kyzov
Less a nation and more a land of thieves, murderers, and misanthropes; Krei is known as a place to get and stay lost. Gangs, guilds of thieves, and bands of lawless criminals of all sorts call the cities of Krei home.
Maghanax
Tolvara’s magocracy neighbour, Maghanax is the pinnacle of magical prosperity. However, those without magic are nothing more than serfs and servants for the magical upper class. Also, due to the fear of monstrous retribution for trespasses, adventuring is strictly forbidden in the kingdom of Maghanax unless given express permission by the council of mages.
Nalia
A land of peaceful villages and farmers, untouched by the dangers of Turrez-Ghul and far removed from politics of the more centralized nations. Nalia is a place of beautiful wilderness and a bastion of the balance of life and nature.
Ocessa
Ocessa is a seafaring nation of explorers, traders, and privateers. The government of Ocessa is the longstanding ally of Tolvara and has a reputation as vicious pirate hunters.
Tolvara
The central kingdom of Emlearal, Tolvara is massive, acting as the hub of trade, economy, and politics for all the nations of Emlearal. Tolvara is ruled by a benevolent Emperor and his cabinet of advisors known as the Concordant Council.
Turrez-Ghul
The dark land. The place where hope dies. Turrez-Ghul is known through Emlearal as The Enemy. A land conquered long ago by a powerful clan of orcs and their sinister dragon allies, Turrez-Ghul is the evil that seeks to envelope all the kingdoms in darkness.
Zhang Sing Se
Zhang Bao
Once a part of the great kingdom of Zhang Sing Se, Zhang Bao is the brother kingdom of Zhang Liang. As part of a region torn apart by war between siblings, Zhang Bao is very militaristic, a bushido lifestyle focusing on the art of war for the sake of war.
Zhang Liang
Once a part of the great kingdom of Zhang Sing Se, Zhang Liang is the sister kingdom of Zhang Bao. The people of Zhang Liang seek to live life according to the peaceful way of life and harmony of the soul.
The Wild North
Miles of unclaimed wilderness covered in the remains of a tundra that once encased all Emlearal in an Ice Age. The people here are hardy, if uncivilized. Monsters and barbarians, dungeons and lost ruins dot the landscape. Rumors abound of a great evil that reigns over the dead of the Wild North and carries the power of a forgotten evil.
